[Poland] [July 2008] Heaven or Hell

Due to the recent success of the tournament in Stuttgard we have decided to organise similar one in Poland. It's planned　for July next year as we would like to make a solid tournament with nice prizes, the main events will be Guilty Gear AC and Soul Calibur 3 or 4. Therefore we would like to invite as many players from abroad as we can. There are only two possible dates 11, 12, 13 and 18, 19, 20.The tournament will be held in a town which is 2h away from the Capitol(Warsaw),the location of the tournament is easily accessble from the bus and train sation. We can offer cheap rooms(8?) near the site of the tournament. We would like to know what you think about and how many of you are intrested in it.

There will be no Tekken until Soul Calibur is out because of lack of players.

3s may be included but it's not 100% as for now.

The tournament won't be hold in Warsaw but in Włocławek, however, I will be helping foreing players to get to Włocławek from our capital because I live here

From my opinion it is not interesting at all. For the same money you can go to France and play there more games and meet more pro players. But who knows ...

3s will be there most probably. We can say it's about 90-95% now.

Belial, I told you I don't use ICQ anymore. I spend a lot of time on MSN lately because I use it at work but I haven't seen you on MSN for a long time.

About Tekken players - yes, there are much more Tekken than Calibur players. I said that if there aren't enough SC players registered, then the SC tournament will be cancelled.

But if there are more T players, why hold an SC tourney in the first place? Some sort of a personal preference?

Kind of. Let's say that Guilty Gear Team Poland (from whom Cieślak is the main org) has bad experience with Tekken players. Once there was a tournament containing T5, SC3, GG and 3s. Many people came for 2D games but then they realised that orgs do not take care of games other than Tekken. E.g. my friend won a diploma for SC3 tournament which didn't take place. The same was with 3s. As for GG, players from GGTP had to keep asking for TVs - they finally got 2, I think - to run a tournament by theirselves. SC players are in minority in Poland but they're perceived by 2D players as nicer and more tolerant. In fact many of SC players like GG and play it.

Plus, some of 2D players want to show that a big fighting games tournament in Poland can be run without Tekken.

Well, it depends on where do you want to stay - in Warsaw or in Włocławek. If in Warsaw maybe it'll be possible to sleep at my house because July is a time when my brother is usually absent.

However, it's 11 months till the tournament and I think I'll be sure about my brother 2-3 months before HoH.
