A Japanese Fighting game website, Fighters Front Line had an interview with SNK Playmore staff. Lots of details are revealed related to future plans of the company. Interesting highlights of the interview are:

- KOF98 and KOF2002 will come out as singles games (presumably as Rebouts) instead of Online compilations.
- KOF NESTS Hen is delayed because SNK wants to add both NeoGeo and DC versions, plus a bonus.
- World Heroes, Kizuna Encounter/Savage Reign and other NeoGeo games will come out as NeoGeo Online Collections as planned.
- Samurai Shodown Tenkaichi Kenkyakuden was planned to be last 2D Samurai Shodown game, but it all depends on the fans which way they want SNK to take the series.
- NeoGeo Battle Coliseum 2 is not currently in plans, but SNK will develop it if there is enough demand to continue the series from fans.
- Garou: Mark of the Wolves story will continue, but SNK is still looking at the possibility whether to develop MOTW2 or take the story into a new series.
- SNK Playmore is also looking at the possibility of releasing its portable (mobile phone) games outstide Japan, as some of dating sim games with SNK characters have had great success.
- After the success of Playstation game 'Athena' and a portable game 'Athena on Stage', SNK will release another action based game on KOF heroin, tentateively titled 'Athena: Full Throttle". This portable game is expected to come out in July.
- SNK would also like to do a 3D fighting game based on SNK ladies only. (DoA???)
- Yumeji Kurokochi of Samurai Shodown is likely to be a man. But SNK is in midst of verifying it (WHAT THE HELL??!!!)
- In NGBC, Mizuchi's original form was not some clone of Chris, but some kind of weapon created by WAREZ.
- SNK will also port its KOF Pachinko (Slot) Machine games to Portable (mobile) platform.
- It may be possible to renew their collaboration with Capcom, to release (fighting) games with characters of both companies (CvS 3? HELL YEAH!!!).
- SNK is also looking forward to the next generation console wars before deciding their strategy, since success of each console also varies from country to country.

Вот ещё (интервью с Фэлкуном)
-------------------------------------------------------------

Latest Falcoon interview (From cyberfanatix.com):

His opinion of KOF MI is near the one some people expressed on this very board recently "it's just for fun. It's supposed to be a fun game". Even if the game can be played online, they focused on the 1P expericence so the lonely player would have tons of things to do.
KOF Maximum Impact is definitely set in a different universe than the regular KOF Series. This means nearly all the characters can appear, even those dead in the regular KOF series (like the Orochis, for example)

KOF MI3 is scheduled for the PS3. He already has some ideas for it, and for eventual sequels should the game sell well.

KOF: Another Day was an experiment and an advertisement to MI2 and KOF XI. It's not cannon, and it doesn't mean the two universes are close, nor that Ash will appear in MI nor Alba in XII.

They have no plans right now to make another anime.

The US name change Maximum Impact into KOF 2006 has been made to reflect the different market, like Ryûkô no Ken into Art of Fighting or Garô Densetsu into Fatal Fury. The decision has not been taken by Falcoon, and he doesn't seem to appreciate it much, nor does he seem to really care.

Metal Slug 6 is the last Metal Slug on Atomiswave.

They don't plan to make a real fighter on PSP nor DS. The studies show many players use their PSP at home, so there is no use to make a game on PSP if they can play one on PS2.

The name "KOF XII" is not definitive, but the game is definitely being worked on, as Nona's presence the other day implyed.

Interesting discussion about Alfred's position in the Garô universe.

No more DJ Station, but they would like to continue with the CD dramas.

The reason most voices in Ken Samu were changed was because the format was too old to sound good on AW.

THERE WON'T BE A SEQUEL TO LAST BLADE.

They would like to port the HNG64 games on current generation system, but they can't because... They don't have any data anymore. It has disappeared. They would need to buy a board and games to begin with. But they would like it, even though they know thet would sell very little
quantities.

They don't want to ditch 2D yet. They think 2D fighting game are still interesting. They also talk about a possible collaboration with Arc system. They would like to, even though it appears quite difficult to do. (Faust VS Yamadzaki!?...LOL)

They say if the 2D genre was to disappear, they want to be the last maker to make 2D games.
